All You Need to Know About Moisturizers

There is more to story than just looking good. Skincare has become the most confusing things in life. Moisturizers are important to protect your skin from external contaminants. When the skin gets exposed to wind, sun, dirt and other environmental factors it can lose essential vitamins, and fatty acids that help support the structure of your cells.

Moisturizers help to lock the moisture in the skin and maintains skin's elasticity and keep it feeling soft and supple. Moisturized skin is healthy skin and it attracts everyone who looks at it. If your skin is not regularly moisturized, it tends to develop wrinkles, making even a young person look elderly.

The moisturizers are not only for people with dry skin but even people with oily skin should moisturize. After cleaning your skin, everyone should preferably apply a moisturizing cream. You can also use moisturizer after your makeup that will help to hold it in place. A good moisturizer protects skin from UV rays that can cause premature aging.

To get the maximum benefits from your moisturizer, you need to follow these tips:

Layer strategically: It has been proved that you will get more benefit out of your skin care products when you layer products in the best most effective order. You have to start with the thinnest consistency products and move up to the heaviest.

Timing Is Everything: After washing your face, it is important to lock that moisture into your skin. But do not use if your skin is too wet, the lotion will slide off in this case. The best way out is to apply moisturizers when your skin is moist. This moist state is most approachable immediately after towel drying.

Thus, when used properly and regularly moisturizers can be highly beneficial for your skin. Using it regularly also prevents skin from drying, cracking, and aging. It is like a favor to your skin or body, by moisturizing at least daily and more frequently, as necessary.

Top 10 threats of aging (Part II)

6) Exfoliate:

According to scientific study, our skin can shed 30,000 to 40,000 dead cells per minute naturally. Sometimes, the dead cells will fall off from or skin or it will stay in our skin. Once they stayed in longer time, it will cause dull skin and will decrease the our skin absorption to the skin care nutrients. With regular exfoliation helps unclog pores and reveal fresh rejuvenated skin.

7) Malnutrition:

Our body need all kinds of nutrients. (Ex: Vitamin A, E..etc) It requires us to have a balance diet with all kinds of food. Thus, fuel your body with the nutrients it needs by eating fruits, vegetables, and fish. A healthy diet promotes radiant, firm skin and can help prevent age spots and wrinkles.

8) Dryness:

Depending on where you live and the weather. If you lives in inner land or close to desert or in the winter time, your skin may dry out very quickly all the time. Apply balanced moisturizer morning and night. Moisturizers help fight dryness, balance skin tone, and improve skin texture for younger looking skin.

9) Air pollution:

Air is essential to our life too. If you lived in the city with all the hazes or with smokers, they both can lead to premature aging and cause skin wrinkles, decreased radiance, and diminished elasticity. Thus, it is suggested to do exercise in park regularly, to breathe more clean air. Because every time when we do exercise, our body can breath more air into our body then normal.

10) Sedentary life:

Sedentary life is a common problem to most of the people. Many people are staying longer time in front of PC, Pad, or cell phone either for work or entertainment. Thus, we need exercise to stay active and get our blood flowing. The increase blood flow helps nourish skin cells, release toxins, and promote natural oil production for a supple, healthy glow.

Things women should know before 30’s

Posted by Alpessence Team on

People said time is fair because its the same to everyone, however, not for aging. For some people, aging has no connection with time. You might curious why does not time leave any trace on their face? For instance: our nightmare of wrinkles, fine lines, crows’ finger..etc. Although time and aging both are not something we cannot avoid, with some tips, we can postpone the aging from time. Below are some tips for women turning 30’s:

1. Cleanse

A good skin care is half way to anti-aging. Obviously, it is important to clean off your makeup and the day's dirt every day. If you need more reason to wash your face each night, you should know that your sebum (which is produced even if you don't look shiny and greasy) will trap environmental pollutants like cigarette smoke and car exhaust as well.

When looking for a cleanser you want a gentle cleanser that does a good job of removing everything without irritating your skin or over-drying you. Remember that you may need to adjust your cleansing routine with changes in season. A product that is great in the summer may be too much in the winter. You don't need an anti-bacterial face wash. Washing thoroughly with warm water has been shown to be as effective. Wash with warm (not hot) water to avoid drying out your skin, pat dry and apply moisturizer and treatment products immediately.

2. Moisturize

Each time we wash your face, we remove some of its natural moisture—and if we don't apply something to replace what's missing, skin becomes dehydrated. "Maintaining a moisture balance in our skin reduces the appearance of fine lines, prevents sensitivity and controls oil production," says Jennifer Linder, MD, a Scottsdale, Arizona–based dermatologist. Apply a dime-size amount of the formula for your skin type to each cheek and massage it into your face, neck and chest.

3. Stay hydrated

Lotion is only half of the hydration equation—skin needs moisture from the inside out. Drink 8 1 oz glasses of water everyday is very important for keeping your skin hydrated and looking clear to prevent skin from getting dull and dry. Also keep tabs on how much alcohol and caffeine you’re gulping down. Both can make you dehydrated, but drinking coffee or booze along with food and water can help counter the dehydrating effects.

4. Sleep tight

From the scientific study, 7- 8 hours sleep/day is important for everyone. It allows our skin cells renew overnight. When we do not get enough rest, it can take a toll on your skin, causing it to be dull and dry, leading to premature aging. A lack of sleep also causes you to have dark circles around your eyes, making you look older.

5. Protect

Ask any dermatologist what you can do to help with aging, and I bet 100% of them will immediately, without even thinking about it, answer you with "wear sunscreen." Sunscreen is by far and away the single most effective therapy for anti-aging. Nor do you get all of your important sun exposure before the age of 18. You can still do a lot of good by wearing sunscreen of at least SPF 15 every day with broad spectrum UV coverage and avoiding the sun in peak periods such as between 10 am and 2 pm.
